Cosworth's goal when designing a high flow air intake system is to ensure an efficient system with minimal effects caused from heat soak. The air intake system features a conically shaped, larger diameter inlet tube that forces air through the system smoothly and efficiently. Surrounding the inlet with a heat shield isolates the system from the heat from the engine finishing off a system proven to unlock power and torque that was hidden by the OE system.
