Increased engine performance often means increased
engine speed and load. However, original factory crankshafts may not be
able to withstand the added stress from such load and hence result in
catastrophic engine failure. Additionally, many OE crankshaft rod
journals are lubricated from only one main oil feed allowing for enough
oil under normal circumstances but not for extreme use. Cosworth took all of
these aspects into account when creating this billet crankshafts.
Cosworth"s crankshafts feature a full-flow oiling system which allows each rod journal to be lubricated from two main sources. By providing this exceptional lubrication, the chance of common rod bearing failure during sustained high rpm use becomes the least of your concerns.
